Brookhaven Arts Festival FAQ’s

Q. What is the Brookhaven Arts Festival (BAF)?
The Brookhaven Arts Alliance sponsors an arts festival every fall, with proceeds to benefit art education for area children. The festival presents local and regional artists carefully selected by a jury. There are activities for children, food, music, and plenty of opportunities for sponsorship and to vounteer!

Q: Who are the artists? Can my Aunt Beezy sell her crocheted toilet paper holders there?
Exhibitors are selected from a juried pool of self-submitted artists. Artists come from as far away as Indiana and as nearby as our own neighborhood. The BAA is very selective about who comes to the show, and we get a 75% return rate on artists from year to year. That’s pretty good; it means that festivalgoers like the work enough to take it home with them, and that keeps the artists coming back.

Q. I already went to 5 arts festivals this year. Why should I come to this one, too?
The BAF is special because it presents artists you may not see at other local festivals. It is the final area festival of the year.

Q. What if it rains?
Come on down anyway! This event occurs rain or shine.

Q. Do I need to buy a ticket?
No; this free event is brought to you by the artists and your neighborhood sponsors and volunteers.

Q. Is there food?
Yes, there is a festival food court with ice cream, corn dogs, hot dogs, greek fare, and drinks.

Q. Is there beer?
Yes; Red Hook Ale is a major sponsor of the event. You can purchase beer at their booths in various locations at the festival.

Q. What is there for kids to do?
Children like looking at art, too! There is live music, a bouncy castle and a children’s market where your child can create future heirlooms to take home.

Q. What is the attire?
Atlanta is usually still temperate in October, but check the weather before you come so you’ll know what kind of attire is appropriate. The BAF is casual; make yourself comfortable!

Q. Where do I park?
Park at the Brookhaven MARTA station. There is a map and a link to Google’s directions here.

Q. What are the hours of operation?
Saturday, October 14 from (9AM to 6PM?) and Sunday, October 15 from (12PM to 6PM?).

Q. Is Fido invited?
Well-mannered dogs on leashes can come to the festival.
